Funding Priorities

Grant proposals that address the findings of Meet the Neighbors, the comprehensive scan of Rhode Island’s LGBTQ communities, will be given priority. The report identified ten priority needs that guide Equity Action’s grantmaking:

• Ensuring safe schools and youth services
• Advocating for civil rights and protection
• Expanding access to welcoming health care
• Recognizing the needs of elders
• Supporting families
• Building community cohesiveness
• Addressing diversity within the communities
• Increasing awareness and visibility of the communities
• Creating a community/resource center
• Sustain HIV services
