The Newport County Fund was established as a permanent endowment of The Rhode Island Foundation in 2002 to benefit the communities of Newport County: Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton.
The first and only Foundation-established fund with a geographic focus, the Newport County Fund was designed to respond to and promote the unique nature of regional philanthropy. NCF provides an innovative vehicle for building charitable capital and demonstrates the Foundation's long-term commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Newport County. NCF is guided by a volunteer advisory committee of residents and community leaders.
NCF's grant programs support a broad network of organizations that sustain and strengthen Newport County communities. NCF grants are intended to supplement, not replace, the Foundation's statewide grantmaking programs. Since its inception, NCF has awarded more than $2 million to programs and projects benefitting the region. |
