The Newport County Fund was established to enhance the quality of life in the communities of Newport County - Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton.
The first and only Foundation-established fund with a geographic focus, the Fund is built around the idea of regional philanthropy. A volunteer advisory committee of residents and community leaders guides the Fund. NCF awards grants to projects and organizations that benefit Newport County's communities. (These grants supplement, not replace, the Foundation's current statewide grantmaking programs.)
The Rhode Island Foundation’s Newport County Fund has awarded $187,113 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations throughout Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton.
Newport County Fund donors, grantees, and volunteers gathered at the Newport Art Museum to celebrate the Fund's first decade of accomplishments, including the awarding of grants totaling more than $2.5 million to programs and projects that sustain and strengthen the six Newport County communities.
