The Rhode Island Foundation’s Newport County Fund has awarded $187,113 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations throughout Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton.

Five college students from Rhode Island have been named 2013 Metcalf Fellows by the Rhode Island Foundation. The awards, made through the Michael P. Metcalf Memorial Fund, enable students to pursue self-designed educational enrichment projects through travel.
