Ways to Establish a Fund

Daniel Kertzner and Vera Gierke
Daniel Kertzner, vice president for grant programs, enjoys a light moment with donor Vera Gierke.

There are four ways you can establish your permanent fund with The Rhode Island Foundation.

  • A Current Gift establishes your fund now.
  • A Deferred Gift establishes your fund following your death.
  • A Life Income Gift allows you or someone you designate to receive income for life and establishes your fund following your (or your designee's) death.
  • A Charitable Lead Trust makes income payments to a charitable fund at The Rhode Island Foundation that you name, for a term of years or for the lives of individuals; at the end of the term, the remaining assets pass to heirs or other individuals you designate.
