Education

• The Foundation played a significant role in bringing Teach For America to Rhode Island.
• We supported the Rhode Island Department of Education's applications for federal Race to the Top funds.

• The Foundation co-sponsored the "Making It Work: Health Reform in Rhode Island" public forum series (PDF, 1.03MB)
• We funded a study which revealed 140,000 Rhode Islanders have no health insurance

Community and Economic Development

• The Foundation and partners Rhode Island Housing and United Way Rhode Island convened a coalition of stakeholders to address the affordable housing crisis.  The outgrowth was HousingWorks RI which is working - with the Foundation and others - to end Rhode Island's shortage of affordable homes.

Human Services

• The Foundation awarded a $100,000 emergency grant to Crossroads Rhode Island
