The Foundation is currently seeking a Program Officer in the Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence (INE) to assist in providing services and programs that enhance the skills and abilities of those working in Rhode Island’s nonprofit organizations. The officer works closely with the Vice President of INE to oversee programs, operations, and budget of the Initiative, ensuring that the INE fulfills its strategic directive to strengthen the nonprofit sector, with an emphasis on those organizations working within the Foundation’s strategic initiatives and primary grantmaking sectors. The INE Program Officer will specialize in one or two key areas: fund development and/or financial management.
Primary responsibilities include:
Bachelor’s degree required. Proven experience in and ability to offer meaningful assistance to nonprofits around fund development and/or financial management. Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a nonprofit organization or equivalent relevant nonprofit and/or administrative experience. Ability to train, teach, and facilitate presentations; prior experience preferred. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to do research and codify findings. Ability to coach and guide sensitive interpersonal discussions with external contacts.
