Workforce development full STEAMM ahead

Beth Cunha, co-founder and executive director of CDL, believes that education and workforce development go together, that they must work as partners. The paths being developed by educators and business leaders today include tracks that do not necessarily lead to college. “Let’s face it,” says Cunha, “some kids are not ready to go to college and that’s okay. Let’s look at the pathways and training structures that support them.”

Getting people back to work

SAMI is an eight-week training program to help unemployed Rhode islanders connect with jobs in the marine trades and manufacturing industries. The program recruits, screens, and trains individuals for high demand careers in these industries at no cost to participants.
