Increasing the number of primary care professionals practicing in Rhode Island is one of our key strategies, but the state will need a projected 4,000 new nurses by the end of this decade.

The new initiative will help transform primary care services to better meet the needs of the 8,000 children served each year in the hospital’s primary care practice while also enhancing training of the 60 medical residents who care for them.
