Bristol Female Charitable Society Fund
The Bristol Female Charitable Society Fund supports charitable programs and services in the greater East Bay community of Rhode Island, with a preference for Bristol. The Fund, first begun by 88 prominent Bristol women in 1811, was established at the Foundation in 2003.
Preference is given to programs that promote benevolence and charity, and that especially extend relief to the poor and indigent. Grants generally range between $500 and $5,000.
Please limit your submissions to one application per year to the Bristol Female Charitable Society Fund.
Application Deadline
Grants are awarded annually. Applications are due August 13, 2010.
To Apply
A complete application consists of:
- Application form

- Detailed budget for the proposed project
- Audit and final year-end statements for most recently completed fiscal year
- Copy of organization’s tax-exempt 501(c)(3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service
- List of Board of Directors and staff
- Report detailing how last year’s grant was spent (if your organization received a recent Bristol Female Charitable Society grant
