The Merrylegs Fund

The Merrylegs Fund supports therapeutic and recreational horseback riding programs for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. This permanent endowment was created from the remaining assets of the South County Therapeutic Riding Foundation, which operated on the Merrylegs Farm in Coventry, RI, when it closed in 1988. The Riding Foundation provided recreational horseback riding for residents with various disabilities.

Grants from this fund range from $500 to $1,500. Applicants must be accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). Funds may not be used for the purchase of equipment.
