Organizational Development Grants
The Foundation offers Organizational Development Grants of up to $10,000. The funds can be used for a variety of activities that strengthen and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including:
- Strategic planning
- Business planning
- Board development
- Fund development planning
- Marketing planning
- Feasibility studies
- Reorganization and streamlining
- Financial management planning or systems
- Transition or succession planning
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and grant decisions are usually made within 4-8 weeks.
As a first step, the Organizational Development Grant application process requires the executive director and board chairperson of an organization to complete an organizational assessment. This assessment is a required element of the application. The process should take less than one hour. The assessment automatically will produce a prioritized list of the group's organizational development needs. The proposed use of funds should correspond to one of these needs.
Eligibility
Organizations can receive one Organizational Development Grant in a given calendar year. Be sure to submit your request at least eight weeks in advance of the date you expect your project to begin.
