Antonio Cirino Memorial Arts Education Award

The Antonio Cirino Memorial Fund offers awards to Rhode Island residents/artists who need financial assistance to acquire education toward a masters or doctorate in order to pursue a teaching career in the arts. Applicants should demonstrate a consistent pursuit of knowledge about and in practice of the arts. Applicants will be expected to become increasingly independent of Cirino support in successive years. Applicants may be degree candidates in one or more aspects of the arts and in one or more of the arts disciplines. Grants are renewable for an additional two years, up to $10,000 annually, depending on financial need and the costs of the institution attended. It should be understood, however, that students writing dissertations would only generally be funded for one year and at the minimal amount ($2,000).
