MAIN FLOOR

Rhode Island Room
The most public and single largest of all the Foundation's meeting spaces, the Rhode Island Room is a good-size rotunda with wonderful bay windows facing the State Capitol. It comes with seating for 85 (lecture style), the legal occupancy for the room. (The room features a floor-to-ceiling glass wall that provides privacy but light, quiet but an appearance of activity, and separates the room from the Foundation's concierge area.)

Two six-foot folding tables are available in this room for food, beverages, displays, etc. If there is a need for additional tables or equipment, rental arrangements must be made with the Facilities Coordinator, or through a rental company. All delivery and pick-up times must be scheduled with the Facilities Coordinator prior to scheduling.

Using tables will, of course, reduce the optimum occupancies considerably. Additionally, consideration must be given to the function's configuration, use of displays and equipment. Please contact the Facilities Coordinator for details and advice.

2ND FLOOR

Use of the upstairs, because it is in the midst of the Foundation's administrative offices, is subject to certain additional restrictions. See especially "Noise Levels" and "Restricted Areas" under "Restrictions".

Tempus Room
One of the most glorious rooms in the Foundation, this long, narrow room offers a standard configuration of sectional tables/chairs for up to 24 people. It features the internal clock works of the original train station, with a bay window view of Providence's downtown ice skating rink. Variable table/seating arrangements will be considered within feasible limits.

Goddard Room
Another large and versatile meeting space that can double as both a meeting room and a function space, the Robert H.I. Goddard Room is named for the late philanthropist who served on the Board for 33 years, and as its Chairman for 20. The room has a very large stationary meeting table, and also an outdoor balcony which can be used in appropriate weather.

Providence Room
The third in a triumvirate of elegant meeting spaces on the Foundation's second floor, the Providence Room is a private room of roughly square proportions offering an open rectangular configuration of sectional tables/chairs. A separate doorway off the hallway provides more privacy, although a smaller space, than either the Tempus or Goddard Rooms.

Reception Area
The Tempus, Goddard and Providence Rooms are connected by a large reception area with movable seating. Evening functions in particular can take advantage of one, two, or all three rooms and the reception area, enabling a comfortable standing occupancy of 150 people depending on the function's configuration, use of displays and equipment.

Note: For large gatherings requiring removal of the Goddard Room chairs, the Providence Room is used to store them, eliminating its availability.

The Tempus Kitchen is available for catering use. See Costs.
