We’re pleased that you have established a donor-advised fund at The Rhode Island Foundation. As you know, Donor Advised Funds allow you to:

• be actively involved in the grantmaking process by recommending which charitable organizations receive distributions
• receive maximum tax benefits
• add to your endowment in the most convenient and tax-advantaged ways
• make use of the Foundation's knowledge of the nonprofit community

The Foundation will:

• assure the charities are qualified to receive your recommended grant
• handle all administrative details, notify recipients of the grants and send the checks
• provide you with semi-annual reports on fund activity (e.g. grants, gifts)
• notify you of gifts received from any source
• provide documentation, as appropriate to substantiate your gift.

This section of “Give” is designed just for you. It provides access to our online service for donor advisors – Advisor XPress; provides the forms you need to recommend grants; and answers questions you might have about the fund you established or the Foundation.
