One aspect of The Rhode Island Foundation is a collection of individual endowments, nearly 1,000 of them. They run the gamut, from the 1916 contribution from textile expert and philanthropist Jesse H. Metcalf that established the Foundation to funds created in 2006 by the late Helen Walker Raleigh to support fields of interest as diverse as animals, youth, and vision research.
The Foundation has put together a colorful description of all our endowments, noting each endowment’s purpose. Woven into the list from 1916-2007 are 45 short stories featuring the endowments established in 2007.
And we also show our appreciation for the Rhode Islanders who have made future plans to conduct their philanthropy through The Rhode Island Foundation, by joining The 1916 Society. |
