Guiding clients to and through retirement

Wrapping up National Estate Planning Awareness Week, we celebrate and thank all of the estate planning professionals that we have worked with over the years. Rhode Island is home to a vibrant community of fantastic estate planning professionals, who work closely with their clients to design and implement estate plans that address the unique needs of each family and situation.

Individuals and families often overlook the importance of an estate plan as a component of overall financial wellness. An estate plan is a series of documents that outline an individual’s wishes regarding how their financial assets and property will be handled during their lifetimes and after death. A comprehensive plan also addresses questions about end of life care, and provides an opportunity for individuals to communicate their wishes regarding end of life medical treatment. For many Rhode Islanders, a good estate plan can also help to minimize the estate and income tax.

Here at the Rhode Island Foundation, we have been extremely fortunate to work with many of our state’s top estate planning professionals, and regularly support and engage with planners and their clients in their efforts to develop charitable giving plans. Through these collaborative efforts, clients and their advisors can be confident that the Rhode Island Foundation will steward their charitable legacy for generations to come.
