Wealth planning in a year of change

Rhode Island is home to a vibrant community of expert estate, wealth, and tax planning professionals who work closely with their clients to design and implement plans that address the unique needs of each family and situation. We thank them for sharing their expertise with Rhode Islanders over the years.

Each year, we partner with Washington Trust to present a wealth management roundtable, a panel discussion by experts in the field who talk about important developments in the area of financial planning.

...

This year, our three panelists – Peter Phillips with Washington Trust, Paul Silver with Hinckley Allen, and Patricia Thompson with Piccerelli, Gilstein, & Company – guided their colleagues through potential tax reforms and other developments, including charitable planning. They discussed the implications of factors such as the repeal of the estate tax, lowering top individual and corporate tax rates, and possible changes to the tax treatment of charitable contributions.

Here at the Rhode Island Foundation, we have been extremely fortunate to work with many of our state’s top financial advisors. We regularly support and engage with them to develop charitable giving plans for individuals and businesses. Through these collaborative efforts, clients and their advisors can be confident that the Rhode Island Foundation will steward their charitable legacy for generations to come.
