We're helping them pursue their passions

We are proud to partner with generous Rhode Islanders who want to make a difference with the organizations and causes they care about – both in the present and for years to come in the future.

We are always inspired by the passion and generosity our donors bring to the causes and organizations they care about and few partners exemplify this spirit of passion more than Sandy and Dotty McCulloch.

The McCulloch family’s passion for St. Andrews School is as inspiring as it is legendary. Sandy served as a trustee on the independent school’s board for more than 50 years while Dorothy served in countless volunteer roles that ranged from working in the library to writing the school’s history. Through their many years of service, Sandy and Dotty helped to oversee the renovation and expansion of key campus facilities, the creation of academic and artistic programs, and the adoption and integration of new forms of technology in the classroom.

In 2015, Sandy and Dotty McCulloch established a $1 million fund at the Rhode Island Foundation designed to support the continuing education needs of faculty and staff at St. Andrew’s School. The John and Sheila Martin Fund for Professional Development – named for a long-serving and beloved school headmaster – will help ensure that all future students of St. Andrews can benefit from unparalleled instructional experiences.

The John and Sheila Martin Fund for Professional Development is just one of the nearly 1,500 funds that the Rhode Island Foundation has had the privilege of stewarding over the last 100 years. We are honored to be able to assist Sandy and Dotty McCulloch in ensuring that their service to the young people of St. Andrews will continue now and for decades to come.
