Scholarship and Fellowship Opportunities

Westfield State University student Cameron Clift from Providence was among recipients of a 2018 Major Jeremiah P. Murphy Scholarship. Presented by Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg, Murphy scholarships are awarded to children of active, retired, or deceased Providence police officers.

Many of the scholarships managed by the Foundation are administered by designated schools and organizations. If, in looking through the opportunities below, you think you qualify for one of these opportunities, contact the person or organization listed in the directory.

For other scholarships/fellowships, the Foundation accepts applications only through our free online application system. Although many of the scholarship/fellowship opportunities may be renewable, past recipients must reapply for the current academic year/cycle to be considered for the award. These scholarships/fellowships also may be accessed through the directory below.

The Foundation has developed a scholarship questionnaire to help you determine your eligibility for scholarships administered by the Foundation; please note that you still will need to rely on the Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities to determine eligibility for scholarships administered by designated schools and organizations.

Please note: The information on third party scholarship directories may not be accurate. Please consider the information on our website to be the most up-to-date.

“Receiving this scholarship helped make the goal of becoming a registered nurse much easier to obtain.”

Paulina Samolewicz, University of Rhode Island graduate and recipient of an Edward and Virginia Routhier Nursing Scholarship
